While a property development venture, the design response was born from the bachelor’s desire to create a peaceful retreat from his demanding, globe-trotting business lifestyle. With shared deep appreciation for the architectural mastery of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, we envisioned a space that harmonises the clean lines and minimalist elegance of 1920s with the vibrancy of modern urban living.
This fully bespoke renovation was crafted to be more than just a home—it is a haven where he can unwind with a good book, surrounded by an environment that speaks to our client’s tastes. The design seamlessly integrates quiet, contemplative spaces with an open connection to the lively atmosphere of Chiswick Village; the best of both worlds. Our client, a private developer with a discerning eye for both art and architecture, envisioned a living space that seamlessly blends modern bachelor living while showcasing his prized art and furniture collection.
The goal was to create a refined, inviting sanctuary—private yet filled with natural light—offering an escape from London’s busy streets while elevating comfort and style.
While designed for a profitable sale, the true allure lies in the seamless integration of the client’s collection of rare furniture, lighting, and artwork from global travels.Each piece was carefully selected and strategically placed to serve as a focal point that tells a story. That sets to exemplify how to seamlessly incorporate cherished collections into the very fabric of a home’s design, creating a living space that is as much a gallery of personal history as it is a modern, comfortable abode.

By reimagining the original floorpans, we introduced an innovative upside-down living concept, centred around a understated open staircase that serves as both a functional and architectural masterpiece. This transformation involved s a complete garage overhaul and a major loft conversion, paving the way for an expansive open-plan kitchen and dining area, as well as a comforting top-floor master suite with an ensuite.
The result is a space that exudes understated elegance and functional comfort, without compromising on style. The timeless design that honours the past of its original structure.
