The primary goal of our client, the private developer, was to extend the overall living footprint and to shortly enjoy living at the refurbished property before moving onto another deal.
The bachelor sought refuge from the demanding business lifestyle that takes him across the globe.
To indulge in a quiet pastime reading books, yet be connected to the buzz of Chiswick Village and restaurants have to offer.
And to celebrate the shared appreciation for Mies van der Rohe’s and Le-Corbusier’s architectural styles of 1920’s era and the mid-century.

This open plan, warmly minimalist upside-down remodelling, was consciously created to offer the visual break from the signage cluttered London streets. Pierced through one singular staircase and triple storey bay window, creating the seamless flow throughout while abundant with natural light.
Specific touchpoints were created to showcase our bachelor client’s lifelong private collection of rare furniture, lighting and artwork compiled through his worldly travels. Bespoke joinery, nooks that encourage the sense of exploration and adventure. Complimented with the odd colour splash, fun but purposeful styling.
Results is a masculine space that is comfortable and inviting.

The key brief was to extend up and down, literally. To offer the visual break and unite the space into a comfortable bachelor pad that allows its owner to recharge after a long business trip.
Combining the vintage & classic with the new, masculine clean lines with the warmth of colours, was our key approach in conveying something different. Working with a property of atypical proportions, the intention was to respect the integrity of the original build by designing something to last – but not something to be expected.
Relaxed luxury through a wealth of quietly expressive details: the narrow palette of understated finishes laid in the impactful but calming narrative.
Its atypical construction, set apart from its neighbouring Victorian era properties, strikes you from afar. Inside LG continues to surprise with the unexpected turn of the ‘events’ through the upside-down layout that aims to elevate the main living area, bang on in the middle of a 3-storey bay window, where the best views are.
The sense of space is further accentuated by architecturally clean bespoke built-in storage, resulting in hidden nooks that adds to its quirky charm. Yet subtle on the eye. Who could have guessed the ground floor once housed unloved garage – challenges we welcome, every time.
